Solution (WinXP)

Note: You can't set your share ratio to a given value, just reset to 0.00, but if your downloads eclipse your uploads so far, it's probably better to start with a fresh slate.

Notes

Note a lot of people have issue with this, and will get all self righteous about they're more of a community player etcetera, ignore them. It's not always possible to upload as quickly as you download.

For example I'm on an ADSL line (2Mb down, 288Kb up) ADSL line shared between several people. I got self in situation where i downloaded 130GB in a few months but only managed to upload 30GB, ratio was 0.2 or something.

i only upload at 5KB/s because of another people internet gaming and using bittorrent so not to saturate the upload bandwidth. This left me in a situation where i had 90GB to upload at 5KB/s to get me back up a ratio of 1:1, therefore i reset the statistics, did a few downloads, matched them with uploads and now have a ratio greater than 1.00!

But please, if you find something you like that is genuine and worthy of seeding, do it, it is your duty.

Because of the legal issues, people tend to shy away from seeding illegal files after initial download. i try and give my upload b/w back in the form of TV rips, and internet radio station rips, both illegal but 'less' illegal :)
